VIDEO: Abandoned Newborn in Church Garden Transferred to Orphanage

On May 8, the report received at the Command Center of the Police was not an ordinary or uncommon occurrence. A woman calling the police reported that the gardener of the Holy Mother of God Church in the administrative district of Malatia-Sebastia notified her that a newborn baby had been left in the church’s garden.

The woman informed the authorities that she had taken the child to her home. The report was promptly forwarded to the Malatia division of the police. The law enforcement officers took immediate action. Positive information was received from the Holy Mother of God Medical Center, where the newborn was taken: the child’s life was not in danger.

Law enforcement's efforts to locate the newborn's mother yielded results soon. Further actions clarified some details of the incident.
