Large Number of Police Officers Arrive in Kiran
Police officers who arrived in Kiran are trying to open the Armenia-Georgia interstate road, which has been closed for several hours. “We urge to cease illegal actions and open the trafficable part of the road. If the legal requirement of the police is not met within the stipulated time, appropriate measures will be taken to stop the illegal actions,” said an officer addressing the villagers.
It is reminded that the residents of Kiran have been blocking the section of the Armenia-Georgia interstate road for nearly four hours. They are dissatisfied with the results of the border delimitation published yesterday.
The head of the Tavush police, Artur Mkrtchyan, came to negotiate with the villagers and advised them to meet with the Tavush governor instead of blocking the road to get answers to their pressing questions. However, the villagers refused to open the road and to meet the governor elsewhere, stating that Hayk Galumyan could come and meet them right at the blocked section of the road.
