Former Army Corps Commander Dismissed After Barracks Fire Given New Position

The President of Armenia has appointed Vahram Grigoryan as the head of the Engineering Troops Directorate of the Armed Forces General Staff.
The decree states: “Based on the proposal of the Prime Minister and in accordance with the provisions of Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 35.1, Part 1 and Article 36, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen: Vahram Grigoryan is appointed as the head of the Engineering Troops Directorate of the Armed Forces General Staff.”
It is noteworthy that Grigoryan was previously the commander of the Army's Second Corps and was dismissed in January 2023 following a tragic fire that claimed the lives of 15 servicemen.
