VIDEO: No Pressure Applied on YSU Students, Details Confirmed

Julya

The Vice-Rector of Yerevan State University (YSU), Elina Asriyan, assures that no pressure has been applied on the university's students, labeling such claims as slander.

During a statement made in the YSU yard, the leader of the "Tavush for the Fatherland" movement, Bishop Bagrat, announced that he has also received these reports and urged for their denial if such incidents have not occurred. Asriyan stepped out of the YSU building to speak with Bishop Bagrat and refuted the rumors.

"I am very offended that someone could slander a person. If you did not believe it, you should not have said it," said Asriyan.

Bishop Bagrat, for his part, stated that he did not believe the rumors and thus came to YSU to seek a denial. "I was very pleased that you are here; I came out to greet you. Yesterday, there was no meeting with any dean, so no such statement could have been made. YSU is student-centered, and the rights of students are protected here," the Vice-Rector explained.

It’s worth noting that yesterday, reports circulated indicating that Asriyan had held a meeting with deans and instructed that students with excessive absences should be reprimanded, and that efforts should be made to halt any student strikes.
