The Security Situation Was Complex and Now It Is Even More Complex: Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the war in the South Caucasus was a precursor to subsequent developments, and it is now clear that a global order is collapsing. He made this announcement during a discussion held within the framework of the Copenhagen Democracy Summit titled “From the Frontline: Armenia’s Defence of Democracy,” responding to a question regarding the complex security situation around Armenia.
He emphasized that democracy did not come about in Armenia merely by coincidence. “I believe this fully aligns with the mindset of our people and it is a strategy for our government. It is our political conviction. It is also our political identity, as members of our political team have spent much of their lives fighting for the establishment of democracy, the rule of law, and freedom of speech in our country. And now we have the opportunity to embed all these values in our country.
However, of course, the security situation was complex and now it is even more complex, not only due to our regional situation but also because of the global situation. Because it is clear that the world order is now collapsing. The war that took place in our region was a kind of precursor to subsequent developments,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
