Missing Opposition Politician Found Dead in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani opposition politician Natig Mehdi, a member of the "Musavat" party, who had been missing since May 10, has been reported murdered, according to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs. The ministry stated that he was killed over "interpersonal relations." Azerbaijani media outlets, citing the agency's statement, report that a criminal case has been opened under the article of intentional murder regarding the politician's death. It has also been reported that one individual has been arrested in connection with the case.
