Authorities Set to Face Many Surprises Soon: Bishop Bagrat

The leader of the Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat, requested the participants of the rally to wait outside while he entered the Journalists' Union building with a group. He was welcomed there by Satik Seiranian, the president of the Journalists' Union. She expressed her gratitude for the visit and stated, 'You can see that journalists are working under quite challenging conditions. Even if such violence occurred in 2018, we can only imagine what would have happened. Regrettably, some international organizations remain silent. We already have injured journalists, and regarding these incidents, the Journalists' Union has issued a statement and appealed to its European partners.'

'The media is a serious target, just as you are targeted: Civilnet prepared an important publication with a fact-checking platform, revealing that several dozen websites have been launched, previously active sites have been reactivated, and thousands of dollars have been spent to conduct targeted disinformation against you. Yesterday, I also noticed that representatives of civil society were targeting the media and journalists. I urge my colleagues to refrain from emotions so that we can see the truth. We welcome the movement initiated by you.'

Bishop Bagrat, in turn, thanked the journalistic community and said, 'Nothing will divert us from our path. People appreciate the struggle for truth and want to bear that struggle themselves. The more, the better.'

He announced that the authorities are set to face many surprises soon: 'Just the other day, you saw the diplomatic corps that could not tolerate their presence. The diplomats are deserters, the Bishop is an agent, Garnik is a Freemason, Suren is a figure inserted by the 4th state, the 5th column. We are all people who have undermined the country, but there is one fact they cannot reject: On September 22, 2023, at the UN Security Council meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan said one thing, only to be contradicted by the foreign minister of a hostile country, referring to Mirzoyan's Prime Minister. This is the character of the state. Can they provide a denial for this? They cannot, and they cannot do much.

They will soon see the medical communities, legal professionals, economists, and those in education. People want to be liberated from the causes of lies and evil, and that cause is one person who has enslaved everyone. By what power, I do not know. That one person must go; they must be uprooted. People have approached me saying, 'If it doesn’t work this time, we won’t stay here; we will leave.' You have brought simple people to such an extreme situation.'

It should be noted that peaceful acts of disobedience have resumed in Yerevan since early this morning. Citizens march through the streets of the capital chanting 'Armenian, Armenia, Homeland, and God,' calling for people to join and urging students to skip classes. The protesting citizens briefly blocked Abovyan, Teryan, Hrachya Kocharyan, Moscow, and Republic streets, as well as the intersections of Nalbandyan-Sayat Nova and Tumanyan-Khanzadyan. According to police data, as of 10 am, 38 citizens have been detained.
