“I have said that I wish, I pray that the optimism of Bishop Bagrat prevails. We are working in that direction, there needs to be consolidation, unity, and all of this must come with repentance and remorse,” said His Eminence Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, the leader of the Shirak Diocese, in a conversation with journalists.

“This government has long ceased to be a government for me. This is an occupying regime that must go one day, and the sooner it goes, the better. We are both praying and engaged in saving the homeland; we are not involved in politics. Saving the homeland is one of the Church’s primary missions. This homeland exists thanks to the Church; otherwise, if it were left to them, there wouldn’t be anything remaining.”
