A 5-Day-Old Baby Found in the Yard of a Church in Yerevan; Transported to Hospital
An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on May 8. According to reports from shamshyan.com, around 7:30 PM, the Malatya division of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that a several-day-old baby had been discovered in the vicinity of the "Holy Mother of God" church on Romanos Melikyan Street.
The police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the received operational information was accurate. The gardener of the church found the newborn while working in the garden and informed his acquaintance, 68-year-old Mariam H. from Yerevan, who then took the baby to her home to care for it.
Subsequently, the police went to Mariam H.'s house, where they located the 5-day-old baby and transported the child to the "Holy Mother of God" medical center. Following the incident, documentation was prepared at the Malatya division of the police, which was forwarded to the investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee in the city of Yerevan, where a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
The police and the investigative department are undertaking necessary operational and investigative measures to find the child's parents.
