The police have never used force against a clergyman and will not take such a step. This was stated by Archbishop Mikhail Ajapahyan, the head of the Shirak Diocese, in an interview with journalists.

“If the police indeed take such a step, then they will disgrace themselves. If the authorities give such an order, they will be discredited themselves. The term ‘spirit’ was used in a certain negative sense in ancient Armenian, but today it is not used that way. The word ‘brave’ in ancient Armenian means ‘devil’, but who uses that word in the sense of a devil today?” he said.

According to Mikhail Srabazan, they have partially hinted to Pashinyan about the meanings of words and have led him into a narrow passage. “The authorities have started to feel the measure, that euphoric state when they were exposing corrupt clergymen and were initiating movements against the Catholicos of All Armenians. Now they have understood that the Church does not fit into their weight category. It is impossible to defeat the Church; it can only be temporarily halted through the physical elimination of church officials,” Srabazan noted.

Mikhail Srabazan emphasized that it is impossible to defeat the Church in an ideological battle.
