VIDEO: The Catholicos Leads a Political Movement, the Main Beneficiary is Robert Kocharian, Says Nikol Pashinyan

According to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the blessing of a movement by the Catholicos of All Armenians signifies leadership, as a religious figure cannot express political views without the Catholicos' permission. During a press conference, he stated, "The leader of the process is the Catholicos of All Armenians, and the number one beneficiary is Robert Kocharian, the leader of the 'Armenia' alliance."

Pashinyan emphasized that the government should not interfere in church affairs. "It is evident that today the Catholicos of All Armenians is leading a political movement, which is very apparent. Why should the Catholicos lead a political movement? Moreover, it is now clear what the purpose of this movement is, as its spokesperson has announced; their goal, as they formulate it, is to bring the previous regime back to power in Armenia, specifically the previous and earlier regimes," he noted.

According to him, this scenario was presented back in 2021 after the elections by the leader of the 'Armenia' alliance, outlining how power changes should be implemented in Armenia through the church.
