VIDEO: Pashinyan on the Border Demarcation of 1988
There has been much discussion about the border demarcation processes of the 1980s, with claims that the government is unaware of them and that these documents have been destroyed. I want to say that I have touched those papers, seen them, reviewed them, and read them. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference today, May 7.
“The whole issue is that the document outlines how it comes into force. The entire process, the documents from 1988, have not managed to come into force. They have not come into effect. Since 2020, a significant part of our activities has pertained to cataloging and studying all the documents related to border demarcation with the aim of clearly knowing where the legitimate borders of the Republic of Armenia lie. We have those papers; they are on our desk, but that process, that package has not received legal force,” he noted.
