Israeli Defense Forces Tanks Enter Rafah Early in the Morning

The armored units of the Israeli Defense Forces entered the southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip early this morning. This is reported by The Times of Israel.

According to the newspaper, the Israeli Defense Forces stated they are carrying out "precise strikes" on Hamas targets in eastern Rafah. Footage from the Rafah crossing area aired on Egyptian television shows gunfire and explosions, the rumble of tanks, and the noise of helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Israeli authorities explained that they intend to exert "military pressure on Hamas to achieve progress on the release of hostages and other goals of the war."
