After the Border Changes, the 'Shor Jur' Spring of Tegh Appeared 1 km Away from the Border

Monument Watch's report: The historic settlement of Tegh has been mentioned since the 10th century when Queen Shahandukht of Syunik founded and developed the village in 988, gifting it to the Tatev Monastery (Orbelyan 1910, 252). One of the largest and most famous springs in the area is 'Shor Jur'. Dating back to the 17th century (recorded in the list of monuments as from the 15th to the 17th centuries), the spring has been renovated, as evidenced by the inscription "1932" preserved on the upper part of the central facade of the source (see photo 2). There are no historical records regarding the spring, and there are no other inscriptions on the structure.

The water from the spring is still of significant importance to the village. In 2021-2022, construction work was carried out to build a drinking water pumping station adjacent to the spring. After the 44-day Artsakh war and the subsequent border changes, the 'Shor Jur' spring is now located 1 km away from the border.
