Video: Senior Members of the Civil Contract Party Are Already Sending Internal Messages on How They Can Join Us, Says Bishop Bagrat
"Decisions cannot be made in their warm rooms at the expense of our lives," said Bishop Bagrat, who is leading the march of citizens from Kiran to Yerevan, during a conversation with reporters.
Responding to recent statements about the church being involved in politics, Bishop Bagrat remarked, "Is there politics in our country? In our country, there is no politics; there is probably a structure operating based on whims, coercion, and other methods."
According to the head of the Tavush Diocese, this march is colorless, yet simultaneously multicolored. "This movement is the movement of the tricolor. Those who are part of it — whether they are parties, organizations, individuals, or families — ask each one of them what the tricolor signifies. This is about the existence of the Armenian people, the victory of truth over the defeat of lies. We are a people fed on lies, a people nourished by hostility and hatred. Today, people at home cannot communicate in two words; who bears the responsibility for this? Go online; today people have been deprived of expressing themselves in their own appearance, they have turned into fakes, mere writers, writers for money. This is the reality. Is this acceptable to us? Should it be? No. Beloved people, this is yours; come, join us. This is the main axis of this movement."
"We say that this (border delimitation) is an illegal, unlawful process, and it must be halted. Four years ago, I said that there can be no such thing as decisions made in their warm rooms at our expense. Back then, they said, ‘politics—politics.’ We are right to intervene in politics; you cannot manage it, which is why we are intervening. This is my country, my homeland; I have friends and brothers, including a comrade I buried for this homeland. This is the reality; either we will have a state that lives with its head held high, enduring all sufferings and difficulties toward victory, or we must vanish and go away," he stated.
The archbishop also mentioned that they are receiving messages from the Civil Contract Party these days: "They remained in the streets, didn't return home, didn't understand who they are and where they are, remained spitting, didn't realize what disasters their activities have led people's lives to, remained cursing, cutting off ears, cutting off tongues. They rise with feathers, speak from the podium, and then go drink, telling each other stories. Complete informants are reaching us straight from among them. I must tell you that senior members of their 'Civil Contract' party, whom I welcome, are already sending us internal messages on how they can join us. This is also their message; let them think about it now. I didn't want to mention this, guys, don't be afraid, nothing."
