What Was the Situation in Kiranats Last Night

Last night in Kiranats, the situation remained unchanged, with the road closed and no one allowed to enter the village. This was stated by Garik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Armenia" faction, in a conversation with Tert.am.

"Until dawn, they didn’t let us enter the village, and shortly we will try again to go, meet the villagers, and inform them about our further actions on the spot," he said.

Speaking about the number of police forces present, he mentioned that numerous police officers have been brought from various places. "Even from Goris, the Baghramyan region, Gyumri, and the Armavir region, police officers have been brought; the entire police system is in Kiranats today, as well as the military police and other units. In other words, the whole security system of the republic has been brought for a small village," he remarked.

"They are engaged in various activities such as intimidation, scaring, and using violence. Yesterday, you saw that they took minors to the police station by beating them. The places from where they were taken belong to the people, and on paper, they are their property," he added.

Danielyan noted that since yesterday, mine clearance operations have begun in Kiranats. "The mines are in the fields surrounding the village; they are clearing those," he said.

Regarding the installation of delimitation stones, Danielyan stated that it is still too early for that. "Where will they place these stones? They are surrendering half of the village. This is not delimitation; the village is being surrendered to Azerbaijan. They themselves say it is delimitation. Half of Kiranats village is being surrendered to Azerbaijan, and the other half is almost being surrendered as well; no one will remain there, and the village will become a territory of migrants and not only the village, but the entire region will be deserted, and shortly, people from the adjoining villages will pack their belongings and leave," he pointed out.
