VIDEO: They will speak of you as participants and accomplices in the surrender of the homeland, Danielyan says to police guarding the entrance to Kirants
Everything happening today will become history, and the police guarding the entrances to Kirants will be spoken of as participants and accomplices in the surrender of the homeland. This was stated by Garik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly’s 'Armenia' faction, near the entrance to Kirants.
Both entrances to the village of Kirants (from Sarigyugh and Voskepar) have been closed for more than 24 hours. A large number of police officers have been deployed in that area. Police again barred Garik Danielyan, Bishop Bagrat of the Tavush diocese, and political scientist Suren Petrosyan from entering the village today.
“After torturing people, they are happy and cheerful, as if Artsakh exists, these areas are safe, they are not surrendering Kirants, they are embracing each other, giving each other knowing glances. But how will they look into their children's eyes tomorrow or the day after?” the MP stated.
It should be noted that the commissions on border delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on April 19 to start the delimitation from the Tavush region. The description of the respective segments of the border will be drafted considering the specifications of the coordinates obtained from geodetic measurements in the area, which must be completed by May 15, 2024.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia has announced that as a result of all this, Azerbaijan will receive 2.5 villages, while the Republic of Armenia will see a reduction in security risks. A change will be made to several hundred meters of the road section near the Kirants village, while Voskepar will have no road issues. After delimitation, the armed forces will withdraw from the sections of four villages and will yield their positions to border troops.
Since April 19, residents of the border villages in Tavush have been holding protests on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. They oppose the version of delimitation agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku.
Currently, 35 border markers have already been installed along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
