Video: We Can Go and See How Many Unnecessary Medicines and Cabinets Are in People’s Homes, says Pashinyan

The further the state is from the individual, the more demonized and alienated it becomes. We must explain that what is happening here is the same as what occurs in their homes and families. This was stated today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.

“We constantly talk about the construction of schools and roads and the quality issues that arise. Those who build private houses should write down on paper how many times they dismantle and rebuild, how many disputes or conflicts they have with builders, and how many times they find that the tiles they personally picked up from the store do not match what they were shown in the shop. This is the same story, but we need to talk to people about it. What happens with state programs is precisely what happens in every family,” he emphasized.

“We could conduct an experiment, go and see how many unnecessary medicines and cabinets are in people's homes. That's wasteful spending. Not to mention that a doctor prescribes 10 medications, we pick them up, and only take three, leaving the other seven to gather dust in the cabinet. We are not getting treated, and we are incurring unnecessary expenses. What I want to say is that the discussions we have in the government meetings can just as easily take place in the family gatherings of many households, questioning whether such a genre even exists,” Pashinyan concluded.
