Video: In Germany, Students Turn Off Taps While Washing Hands, But Here We Don't Wash Until We Use 300 Liters, Says Pashinyan

During today's government session, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recalled a blogger who expressed surprise at how students wash themselves at German universities.

"Did I not mention this at the government session? It was a Russian blogger who said he studied this for months and noticed that students turn off the water while soaping their hands. He said he hadn't seen anyone leave the tap running while soaping up. Can you imagine? They make sure not to use a single drop of water unnecessarily. Whereas for us, if the water doesn't flow into the sink, we hardly manage to use less than 300 liters just for brushing our teeth. This is a matter of education, a mentality that has been formed in kindergarten, school, and workplace relationships. I remembered well: many of our citizens prefer to put magnets on their water meters. However, the same financial effect can be achieved through other means, while also adopting a commendable approach. This is not about someone else; it’s about us. It's not like I turn off the tap while washing up in the morning," said Pashinyan.
