UN Experts Confirm Russia Used North Korean Missile to Hit Kharkiv

UN experts confirm that Russia has used a North Korean missile to strike Kharkiv. The missile in question is from the Hwasong-11 series, according to a 32-page report prepared by the experts and reviewed by Reuters. The launch occurred on January 2.

The authors of the report were unable to obtain information from independent sources regarding who and where the missile was launched. However, data provided by the Ukrainian side regarding the missile's flight path "shows that it was launched from the territory of the Russian Federation."

If the fact of missile supplies from North Korea to Russia is confirmed, the report states, it would represent a violation of the sanctions imposed on North Korea by the UN Security Council in 2006.

Western media have repeatedly reported that Russia has significantly increased military cooperation with North Korea, acquiring North Korean shells and missiles for use in the combat zone in Ukraine. This has also been discussed by U.S. representatives at the UN.
