The "Mother Armenia" coalition is conducting awareness-raising protests at universities in Yerevan. This initiative is in support of the residents of Tavush who are fighting against unilateral territorial concessions. They assert that it is crucial to fight for Tavush and all of Armenia.

“Dear students, professors, and representatives of student councils, we must unite and stand together as one. Citizens need to voice their stance regarding the situation. The further actions of the RA government and unilateral concessions could become a disaster,” emphasized Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the "Mother Armenia" movement.

They are chanting “Join to Change,” “Join.”

It is worth noting that on April 19, commissions on the delimitation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to start border delimitation from the Tavush region. The description of the given sections of the border will be formulated based on the clarification of coordinates from geodetic measurements in the terrain, which is expected to be completed by May 15, 2024.

The office of the Prime Minister of Armenia has stated that as a result of all this, Azerbaijan will gain 2.5 villages, while the Republic of Armenia will experience reduced security risks. Modifications will be made to several hundred meters of the road segment in the vicinity of Kiran, while Voskepar will have no issues with the road.

Following the delineation, armed forces will retreat from the areas within four villages and hand over their positions to border guard troops.

Since April 19, residents of the border villages in Tavush have been holding protests on the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. They oppose the border delimitation option agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku.
