At the intersection of Leo and Paronyan streets in Yerevan, a candlelight vigil is being held in memory of pregnant Sona Mnatsakanyan, who was struck by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's motorcade on April 26, 2022, and later died in the hospital.
Residents placed Sona's picture on the curb and lit candles, laying flowers at the intersection.
It is noted that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident, but returned two hours later to participate in the investigative actions. The man was arrested; however, a measure was chosen to prohibit him from leaving the country with a signature.
Currently, dozens of police officers have gathered at the intersection.
