The Scandal of the Arrest of the Russian Deputy Defense Minister Continues

British intelligence believes that the arrest of Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, suspected of receiving large-scale bribes, is the most serious scandal to have occurred in the Russian defense ministry since the resignation of Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov in November 2012. This information was stated in a report by the British Ministry of Defense's intelligence unit.

Investigators noted Ivanov's lavish lifestyle, highlighting that his income declaration for 2018 states he owns 22 vehicles. British intelligence also indicated that Ivanov likely has long-standing connections with Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. The former deputy minister held the position of deputy governor in the Moscow region in 2012, at which time Shoigu was the region's head.

Anatoly Serdyukov, mentioned in the British intelligence report, was dismissed on November 6, 2012, due to a corruption scandal within the Russian Ministry of Defense. Subsequently, media outlets and investigative bodies reported on the discoveries of billions of rubles stolen from the department and its closely associated commercial structure, Oboronservis.

Additionally, the SHOT Telegram channel revealed where the arrested Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov lived. It was reported that he resided in a house worth one billion rubles, covering an area of about 1000 square meters, located in the premium cottage settlement of Rublyovka. This house is cited in the case materials as Ivanov's actual residence address.

Reports indicate that the interior is luxurious, featuring three floors, four enormous bedrooms, five bathrooms, three living rooms, a fireplace, a home theater, a terrace with barbecue facilities, and an outdoor balcony with seating. The house is decorated with expensive exclusive materials.
