Explosion-Collapse at Noratus Cemetery: One Fatality
On April 23, an explosion and collapse occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 22:55, operational information was received by the Gegharkunik Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia indicating that there had been an explosion at the cemetery of Noratus village, resulting in a fatality. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
According to preliminary information, an explosion took place near the village cemetery under unknown circumstances, causing a section of the cemetery wall to collapse. Police officers, patrol officers, and rescuers discovered the body of a man at the scene.
“The cause of the explosion is being investigated not only by the police but also by investigators from the Gegharkunik Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, who arrived at the scene after receiving the call. An expert is also present at the site. The police and investigative department are working to identify the deceased. It is also being determined whether this incident was an accident, homicide, or suicide,” reported the media outlet.
