Novemberyan Community Does Not Support or Participate in Demarcation Process
The Novemberyan community, including its leadership and the administrative heads of border villages, does not support the demarcation process and has no participation in it.
This was stated in a declaration by the Novemberyan community: "The demarcation work between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the territories of the Baghanis and Voskepar villages poses extremely dangerous risks. In particular, the existence of a new border makes crucial parts of the community's territory vulnerable, which presents a significant threat to the local population.
We support the establishment of peace; however, this demarcation process is in fact a unilateral concession by Armenia, especially when Azerbaijani forces continue to occupy numerous areas of the Republic of Armenia, including the Tavush region. In this context, it is unrealistic to talk about peace in several villages' territories.
We find it unacceptable to conduct demarcation in this manner; therefore, the Novemberyan community, its leadership, as well as the administrative heads of the border villages, do not support the demarcation process and have no participation in it," the statement reads.
