VIDEO: I Support the Truth, Whom Do You Support? Bishop's Statement to the Deputy Police Chief
In the morning, the Deputy Police Chief of Armenia approached the participants of a protest with the local police, warning them that blocking a highway of national importance is a violation of public order. Negotiations with the residents began around 9:15 AM.
Bishop Bagrat of the Tavush Diocese, who joined the protesters, told the police that the community members are citizens of Armenia and that the government has deceived them by claiming that the country's border runs through the village of Kiran, which is a violation of Armenian law and constitution. He stated that it is the police's duty to arrest those who spread such lies.
It is worth mentioning that residents of the Tavush region blocked the Yerevan-Noyemberyan road in protest against the joint decision of the border delimitation commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This decision involves the preliminary agreement on the border line between the Armenian village of Baghanis, Azerbaijani Baghanis-Ayrum, Armenian Voskepar, Azerbaijani Ashaghy Askipar, Armenian Kiran, Azerbaijani Khayremli, Armenian Berkaber, and Azerbaijani Kizil Hajili.
