Poland Ready to Host NATO Nuclear Weapons, Says President

The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, has stated that he has repeatedly discussed the country's willingness to host nuclear weapons under NATO's Nuclear Sharing program with the United States. He noted, "This has been a topic of Polish-American negotiations for some time now."

"I have spoken about this several times. I must admit that when asked about this, I have expressed our readiness. Russia is increasingly militarizing the Kaliningrad region, having recently deployed its nuclear weapons in Belarus. If a decision is made by our allies to deploy nuclear weapons within our territory as part of the Nuclear Sharing program to strengthen the security of NATO's eastern flank, then we are ready for that. We are allies in the North Atlantic Alliance and have obligations in this regard, meaning we are implementing a common policy," Duda responded to a question from 'Fakt'.
