Armenian Boxers Secure Victories at European Championship
Gurgen Madoyan in the 71 kg category and Narek Manasyan in the 92 kg category have kicked off their participation in the European Championship in Serbia with victories. This was reported by the Armenian Boxing Federation.
Madoyan triumphed over Hungarian boxer Romeo Buzas, while Manasyan outperformed Slovakian David Michalek. Additionally, Arthur Sahakyan in the 60 kg category celebrated a victory the day before.
On April 21, during the next competitive day of the boxing European Championship, Armenia will have five participants. Arthur Bazeian in the 57 kg category will face his first opponent, Polish Jakub Krzpitn. In the 67 kg category, Ararat Harutyunyan will compete against Matheus Greiber from Poland.
Hamlet Harutyunyan in the 86 kg category will meet Slovakian Jozef Kosturn as his initial opponent. Narek Hovhannisyan in the 63.5 kg category will measure his strength with Hungarian Richard Kovacku. Meanwhile, Gurgen Madoyan will have his second match against Stefan Savkovich from Montenegro.
From the boxing European Championship, Vahktang Harutyunyan, Rafael Hovhannisyan, and Davit Chalayyan have already been eliminated.
