What Happened at the Armenian-Russian University? The University Clarifies
An educational drill and evacuation procedure took place at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University. This was reported by the university's press secretary, Diana Khoderyan.
“The evacuation of students from the Armenian-Russian University was carried out today as part of an educational drill. Based on the Security Strategy of the ARU and to ensure the safety of students and appropriate behavior in various emergency situations, a drill was conducted for the university's students and staff. The information published in the media regarding a possible threat coincided with the planned educational drill and evacuation procedure,” the statement said.
Khoderyan noted that the university continues its activities in a normal mode and that several events are currently taking place at the university.
It should be reminded that rumors circulated early in the morning about the presence of an explosive device at the Slavonic University. Emergency response workers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. It was later determined that the information was not accurate, and relevant documents were sent to the Investigative Committee.
The university reported that by 10:00 AM, students and teachers had been evacuated. Half an hour later, it became clear that there was no danger.
