Man Enters Iranian Consulate in Paris and Threatens to Cause Explosion

An unidentified man has entered the Iranian consulate building in Paris and threatened to carry out an explosion. This information was reported by the Europe 1 radio station.

“At this moment, a man is inside the Iranian consulate building in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. A police source has informed Europe 1 that he is wearing an explosive belt and threatens to use it,” the publication states.

For safety reasons, metro services on one line have been suspended in Paris, and the area has been cordoned off.

It is believed that the man is hiding in one of the consulate's rooms, reportedly in the presence of the ambassador. Later, the police arrested the man who had barricaded himself with the explosive device inside the Iranian consulate in Paris, according to BFM.

According to the television channel's reports, the man allegedly sought revenge for the death of his brother. Further details have not yet been released.
