Customs Prevents Transport of 67 kg of Concealed Drugs
The Armenian Customs Committee has uncovered a new case of illegal drug transport at the Bagratashen customs checkpoint of the Eastern Customs Administration.
Recently, a vehicle driven by Armenian citizen V.A. arrived at the customs post. During customs control, V.A. claimed that there were no goods subject to declaration in the vehicle. However, during a visual inspection, it was observed that the floor at the passenger side of the driver was unusually elevated.
Upon inspection, it was revealed that there were concealed medications under the carpet of the vehicle. To conduct further surveillance, the vehicle was escorted to a thorough examination area. As a result, various types of drugs, syringes, and empty medicine boxes, along with their instructions, were found hidden under the door panels, beneath the rear seat in a specially adapted hiding place, and under the left side panel of the trunk. The total weight of the drugs amounted to 67 kg.
Following the discovery, customs officers at the Bagratashen customs post of the Armenian Customs Committee drew up a report on the violation of customs regulations under Article 313 of the Law on Customs Regulation of Armenia.
