Defense Ministry Statement Regarding Repair of Military Vehicles with Soldiers' Funds

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement concerning reports suggesting that soldiers often pay for the repair of military vehicles. In their announcement, the Ministry clarified that all types of vehicles registered under the Ministry of Defense and utilized for the needs of the armed forces are maintained, repaired, and funded exclusively by the Ministry itself. It emphasized that the allocated resources for these purposes are fully adequate.

Nevertheless, the relevant units of the Ministry of Defense will conduct a service investigation regarding the statements made in the publication and will undertake necessary examinations.

According to Radio Free Europe, the mother of a soldier injured in an accident had claimed that soldiers frequently use their own money for the repairs of military vehicles.
