Ukraine Receives Bodies of Fallen Soldiers
The bodies of 99 fallen soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been transferred to the Ukrainian side. This was reported by RBC, citing the Ukrainian coordinating staff.
It is noted that most of them, 77 individuals, died in battles in the Donetsk direction, 20 in Zaporizhzhia, and two in Kharkiv. In February, State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliyev reported that the Ukrainian side had handed over the remains of 61 servicemen to Russia. According to data from the Ukrainian staff regarding the treatment of prisoners of war, Moscow returned 58 bodies to Kyiv.
At the end of January, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had returned 195 Russian servicemen from Ukrainian captivity, while handing over 195 fighters of that country's armed forces to Ukraine. In November 2023, Saraliyev stated that the Russian Ministry of Defense had achieved the return of the bodies of 80 Russian soldiers.
