Pashinyan Explains What's Happening Between Armenia and Russia Today

Armenia-Russia inter-state relations are not experiencing their best times, but their importance for our statehood, sovereignty, security, and economy is difficult to overstate. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today during the presentation of the government's 2023 performance in the National Assembly.

“We have truly made no missteps in our relations with the Russian Federation. There is not a single area where our partners can accuse us of failing to meet our obligations. Unfortunately, the opposite cases are numerous,” Pashinyan declared.

He added that Armenia does not wish to quarrel with Russia not only because it lacks the opportunity and strength to do so but also because we appreciate the enormous positives that have existed and continue to exist between our relations.

The Prime Minister decided to explain what is happening today between Armenia and Russia. In his opinion, there is again a transition from the historical Armenia-Russia relations to real Armenia-Russia relations.

According to Pashinyan, during his first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in May 2018, an agreement was reached that the relations between the two countries would be based on mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, statehood, interests, and concerns.
