VIDEO: 'Should I name names from your list who can't write in Armenian?' Manukyan-Simonian Debate in National Assembly
Gegham Manukyan started his speech with the following statement: 'For reading, 3, and for text, 2,' addressing the speech of 'Civil Contract' faction MP Gagik Melkonyan.
'I have a few notes and a question; I want to ask whether the speech made on a Russian television show and translated into Armenian is shared by the majority of the 'Armenia' alliance or is this your alliance's position? I want to understand because indeed speeches from Russian shows are brought here translated as they occur; in connection with that, I think you should provide clarification,' said the National Assembly president, then responded to Gegham Manukyan.
'As for Mr. Manukyan, I am surprised; Mr. Manukyan, basic rules of ethics exist. What does it mean, reading is two? Should you decide during Mr. Melkonyan's speech?' Gegham Manukyan responded from his seat, stating that he did not mean Melkonyan, to which the NA president reacted: 'I don't know who you want to talk about; do you want me to name people from your list who can't write in Armenian? Did I guess correctly?'
Then, Alen Simonian mentioned issues related to demarcation, stating that back in 2009 the government amended the administrative-territorial law and quoted from the law: 'The presented project proposes to include the previously Azerbaijani village of Tigranashen in the Paruyr community of Ararat province, while Barkhudarlu and Askipara villages will be part of the Azatamut and Voskepar communities, simultaneously noting that their boundaries will be clarified after the regulation of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.'
