VIDEO: Azerbaijan Reminds that It Has Submitted Demands and Awaits a Response, Khachatryan
Azerbaijan has submitted demands to Armenia to seize territories from Tavush and is now reminding through gunfire that it awaits a response to its demands. This was stated by Arthur Khachatryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, in an interview with NEWS.am.
In response to the question of why there is firing in Syunik, he answered, "They may fire in Syunik today or at the border with Nakhichevan tomorrow. Let's not forget that all of Azerbaijan's encroachments into the territory of Armenia have occurred from the newly formed borders, and for them, it is certainly much easier to fire in Syunik, in Vayots Dzor, in Gegharkunik, and to provide advances from those borders. In Tavush, there are long-established positions, and the Azerbaijanis have not moved one millimeter forward in these 30 years. One of the reasons they want those areas is that they want to create a breach within a solid border."
Regarding the claim by the Defense Ministry that there are no troop concentrations at the border, while Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan speaks daily about the likelihood of war, Arthur Khachatryan stated, "The responsibility for concessions lies with Pashinyan, and he is blackmailing his own people by saying that either I make concessions, or there will be war. This is aimed at scaring his own people and breaking the spirit of resistance."
