China's Foreign Ministry Calls on the USA
China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced during a press briefing on Monday that China has always opposed the deployment of missiles by the United States in the Asia-Pacific region for the sake of military dominance. He called on Washington to cease its violations of regional peace and stability. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Charles Flynn, the commander of U.S. ground forces in the Pacific region, stated in an interview with the 'Yomiuri' newspaper in Tokyo about the U.S. intention to deploy medium-range missiles in the Indo-Pacific region in the near future. According to him, finding a countermeasure against China's modernizing missile capabilities is 'extremely important for U.S. ground forces.'
'The Chinese side has always opposed the deployment of medium-range missiles by the United States in the Asia-Pacific region in order to gain unilateral military superiority, particularly with regard to the reinforcement of their deployment near China's doorstep. We urge the U.S. side to truly respect the security concerns of other countries and stop undermining regional peace and stability,' said Mao Ning.
