Iran's consulate in Syria was a legitimate target for the Israeli army. This statement was made by Congressman Mike Turner (Republican, Ohio), the Chairman of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee.

“Iran's consulate in Syria was a legitimate target for Israel,” he told CNN.

At the same time, Turner emphasized that Israel's attack was “very reckless,” as such actions “lead to escalation in the region.” He also noted that Americans in the Middle East “remain under threat,” and that attacks on American forces in the region are ongoing.
