Evidence Revealed of Data and Weapon Leaks from the British Army
The British armed forces have lost several machine guns, assault rifles, missile launchers, and thousands of bullets, according to a report by The Telegraph. The information is relayed by RIA Novosti.
"Among other losses are a deactivated Russian missile launcher, up to eight SA-80 rifles, and several Glock pistols," the publication lists. In total, at least 30 units of weapons have been stolen from military bases since 2018.
Additionally, over the past four years, at least 1400 laptops and around 300 USB drives, which could have held classified data, have gone missing from the Ministry of Defence, the article states.
Member of Parliament Sarah Olney has stated that such occurrences must be a cause for concern regarding the personal security of the British people. Despite the fact that the police have launched an investigation, none of the lost weapons have been recovered, the article notes.
