13-Year-Old Boy Hit by 19-Year-Old Driver Dies at St. Astvatsamayr Hospital in Yerevan

On March 29, a 13-year-old boy named Narek P. passed away in the intensive care unit of St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center in Yerevan.

According to photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan, the child was admitted to the medical center on March 20 after being struck by a Nissan vehicle driven by 19-year-old Martin H. in downtown Yerevan. After the incident, an ambulance team transported the severely injured boy to the Heratsi University Hospital, where he was later transferred to St. Astvatsamayr Medical Center two days later.

As reported earlier from the scene, the accident occurred on March 20 around 8:25 AM, when Martin H. struck the pedestrian, 13-year-old Narek P., on Koryun street. The driver did not flee the scene, called for an ambulance, and assisted the emergency medical team that arrived promptly, helping to transfer the boy to the hospital.

A criminal investigation was initiated by the investigative department regarding the incident. Under the investigator's direction, the vehicle was taken to a secured area managed by the National Security Service of Armenia in Yerevan. The driver underwent a sobriety test and was deemed sober.
