VIDEO: Massive Fire Breaks Out in High-Rise Building in Brazil

A massive fire has broken out in a high-rise building in the Torre neighborhood of Recife, Brazil. CNN Brasil reports that the 28-story building was under construction when the fire began, spreading to the upper floors of the structure.

Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene. It is reported that rain fell while the fire raged, which aided the rescue efforts.

The building is located at the intersection of Rua Real da Torre and Padre Anchieta streets, covering an area of approximately 17,000 square meters. It was intended to be a 33-story building, standing about 90 meters tall.

There are no reported injuries at this time.
