Interim Inspection Results in the Egg Market Announced
As previously reported, in anticipation of the Easter celebration on March 31, 2024, the Republic of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body is conducting oversight measures from March 20 to 29 in organizations engaged in egg production and the sales market in order to assess existing risks and eliminate the supply of eggs of inappropriate quality.
Currently, the results of inspections carried out in the companies 'Lusakert Elite' LLC, 'Arzni Pedigree LLC', 'Ashtarak Egg' LLC, 'Vlad Hakobyan' Mixed Feed Plant, and 'Araks Poultry Farm' LLC have been made known, according to which no violations were found in these establishments. Laboratory tests of the sampled eggs indicate that they comply with the requirements set forth by law for table eggs and the EAEU technical regulations.
Results of inspections conducted in two branches of the supermarket chain owned by 'NOR ZOVK' LLC are also known. Specifically, in the store located at 26/1 Davtashen 4th District, Yerevan, 20 chicken eggs produced by Araks Poultry Farm, which had surpassed their expiration date, were found. Their sale has been halted, and the eggs have been destroyed. In the branch located at 7/3 Davit Bek Street, Yerevan, 11 boxes of quail eggs (20 each) produced on March 22, 2024, belonging to individual entrepreneur Mher Avetisyan, were found to have improper labeling. Their sale has been suspended, and the boxes have been returned to the supplier with instructions to correct the labeling deficiencies.
The oversight measures are still ongoing today, and the final results will be presented in a subsequent announcement.
