Father Assaults Minor Daughter and Attempts Sexual Relations: Media

On March 23, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. On that day, operational information was received by the police regional department of Gegharkunik that a resident of one of the villages in the region had frequently assaulted his minor daughter and attempted to have sexual relations with her, reports Shamshyan.com.

A police operational group arrived at the village, where the minor's mother reported that on March 22 at around 4:00 PM, her husband had assaulted their minor daughter in their home, striking her three times in different parts of her body, causing physical pain. Furthermore, on March 14, he attempted to establish sexual relations with his daughter at their home.

It has been reported that on the same day, police arrested the man on suspicion of committing a crime and brought him to the police department in Vardenis. Documents regarding the case were prepared at the Vardenis police department and transferred to the Vardenis investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, where a criminal proceeding was initiated under part 4 of Article 198 and part 2, clause 6 of Article 195 of the RA Criminal Code.
