Armenia to Provide Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
The Armenian government will provide humanitarian aid to Gaza. The decision was made at today's cabinet meeting.
Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Arpine Sarkisyan announced that approximately 1.5 million people who have been displaced from Gaza and are currently in a difficult socio-economic situation at the Rafah border will receive social support in the form of food and medicine to address their primary socio-economic needs.
A total of 19 million drams will be allocated from the government's reserve fund for this humanitarian aid. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also mentioned that they have reached an agreement with the Egyptian government on this issue. "There were logistical questions related to this situation, and we also need the support of the Egyptian government to deliver this humanitarian assistance directly to the population of Gaza. We reached that agreement during our visit, as due to the current situation, we cannot deliver the cargo directly to the Gaza Strip and the beneficiaries," he said.
The deputy minister added that all agreements with the Egyptian government have already been finalized, and the cargo will be sent there, with Egypt assisting in delivering it to the people of Gaza.
