Ukrainian Armed Forces Strike Major Landing Ship with Neptune Missile System
The Ukrainian military has launched an attack on the major landing ship Konstantin Olshansky using the Neptune missile system. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, to Azatutyun, reported Natalia Gurkovskaya from RBC-Ukraine.
"A detective story has unfolded around the large landing ship 'Konstantin Olshansky.' Unfortunately, this ship was supposed to be used against Ukraine. Therefore, a decision was made to destroy that unit with our 'Neptune.' The damage is being assessed; it is definitely damaged and 'is currently not ready for combat,'" said Dmitry Pletenchuk.
Pletenchuk recalled that the 'Konstantin Olshansky' is a Ukrainian major landing ship that was seized by Russian forces ten years ago in 2014. "For nine years it has been resting in the bay of Sevastopol, being dismantled, plundered, and during the tenth year of the war, they realized that it needed to be restored. Consequently, for years, they began reinforcing it and carrying out restoration work," he added.
