This was reported by Reuters, citing information conveyed by rbc.ru. Additionally, The New York Times reported that the ISIS had assumed responsibility for the attack.

The newspaper states that American officials had gathered intelligence in March indicating that an attack was being planned in Moscow. Apart from a public warning about a potential attack on March 7, U.S. officials disclosed that they had privately informed Russian officials about the intelligence data suggesting an impending assault.
