Five Azerbaijanis Arrested in Kyrgyzstan for Plotting Assassination

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has released a statement regarding the arrest of five Azerbaijani citizens who are members of a transnational criminal organization. According to the special service, they were planning to carry out an assassination attempt against the country's leadership.

The document mentions that those arrested include Aliyev V.M., Baghrirov S.A., Asgharov M.O., Behbudrov M.S., and Mamedov Z.I. According to Kyrgyz law enforcement, the arrested Asgharov, who holds the status of a so-called “vagrant” in the criminal world, arrived in Kyrgyzstan with the intention of organizing an assassination attempt against the leadership due to the state's active campaign against organized crime groups.

Currently, investigative measures are being carried out to hold them accountable under the law.
