Armed Robbery in Yerevan: Victim is a US Citizen

Today, on March 21, an armed robbery occurred in Yerevan. Around 11:15 AM, operational information was received at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police and the Arabkir Police Department regarding a citizen injured in the head area on Proshyan Street. This was reported by Shamhsyan.com.

According to the website, the assailant stole a sum of money from the citizen, the exact amount of which is being determined by police and investigators. The area has been cordoned off by patrol officers, and a firearm was found at the scene.

Reports indicate that the victim, who sustained a head injury, is a US citizen. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told AuroraNews, "Operational measures are being taken to identify the individual who carried out the attack." AuroraNews also received information from the Investigative Committee stating, "A criminal case has been opened under Article 252, Part 2, Point 5 (robbery) and Article 334, Part 1 (illegal carrying of civilian smoothbore firearms, gas, pneumatic, cold or throwing weapons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia."
