VIDEO: 'You Are the Lady, Man'. The Situation in the National Assembly Escalates Again
During a session in the National Assembly, a tense moment arose when Hakob Arshakyan interrupted member of the 'Hayastan' faction, Ms. Kyureghyan. As Seyran Ohanyan posed a question about why Ms. Kyureghyan's microphone was turned off, Hakob Arshakyan became confused and mistakenly referred to Seyran Ohanyan as 'Ms. Ohanyan.'
Following this, both Hakob Arshakyan and Ruben Rubinyan attempted to convince that Arshakyan had not intended to address Ohanyan in such a manner. 'I apologize to you, Mr. Seyran Ohanyan. Seyran Ohanyan, who has been a former Minister of Defense and possesses manly honor. Without asking for forgiveness, I realized what a person of merit you are,' Hakob Arshakyan stated.
Shortly thereafter, he admitted that he indeed addressed Seyran Ohanyan as 'Ms. Ohanyan,' and that everything between them had been smoothed over. 'Truly, when we use the term 'lady,' even if mistakenly, there is no trace of insult. I went, looked, and yes, that did happen; I mistakenly addressed in that way,' Arshakyan declared.
Later, Hakob Arshakyan and Seyran Ohanyan clarified who referred to whom as 'lady' and why, and they reconciled.
