Hert university rector resigns

The Rector of the Armenian State University of Economics, Diana Galoyan, has resigned. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the university's marketing and public relations department.

It is noteworthy that she was appointed as rector on December 23, 2020. Since 2018, the university has been led by acting rectors. In May 2020, the Ministry of Education and Science announced a competition for the vacant position of rector at the university.

On July 17, during the competition, Diana Galoyan was elected to the position of rector by a two-thirds majority of the university's scientific council members. According to the law, the government was required to confirm the results of the election for the rector of the public higher education institution, which took place five months after the election.
